HALF CENTURY: We celebrated our 50th anniverary with an extra special match against a select Hertfordshire team, led by the county president Marcia Dunstone. Guests included Mayor of Hertford Linda Radford; councillor Peter “Mr Hertford” Ruffles MBE; and Bob Deering who became the Mayor for 2020/21.

Social Distancing: Bowls started on the 25th May, we must all follow the Bowls England safety rules.

Bowls England recommends that all clubs consider the guidance below.
Play is restricted to alternate rinks 1, 3, 5 or 2, 4, 6 (keep an empty rinks either side of you.
Maximum six players per rink.
Social distancing rules must be strictly adhered to; you must remain at least two metres apart from
other bowlers at all times, unless you are part of the same household.
Minimum of 20 minutes between allocated time slots to enable players to arrive/depart safely.
Equipment: • Mat  • Bowls  • Jack  • Rink markers  • Gloves • Scorecards (these should be retained by one person only if required) • Bowling arm/lifter (for use by one person only if required) • Bowling aids (for players with a disability if required).
To minimise the chance of infection things like Scoreboards and Bowls Pushers should be handled by one person only, preferably with a glove and cleaned with a sanitiser.
The club may have to cap the number of occasions a player can book a rink each week to ensure that the available capacity is distributed fairly.
Until further notice, all clubhouses must be closed.  But limited essential access (for example to use the toilets and hand washing facilities) are allowed by the club.
